The name for this design is inspired by the years spent raving down at Corsica Studios in Elephant and Castle but also, The Heygate Estate was my first major crush as a photographer around the turn of the millenium, when I was living and studying in Elephant and Castle. The scale of the place just blew my mind as there was nothing similar in North London and as soon as I picked up a camera, I didn't stop photographing the estate until it was all gone.
A side is the Claydon Block that overlooked Corsica Studios and the train station and the B side is the Ashenden Block that ran alongside the New Kent Road. RIP The Heygate Estate.
