Inspired by the years spent crawling out of Corsica Studios at sunrise as the Heygate Estate loomed over the exit door until it was finally demolished around 7 years ago. I lived next to the Heygate whilst at uni in Elephant and Castle circa 2000 and it was one of the reasons I got into photography.
The rooftops were accessible to anyone brave enough for a couple of years and the pieces 'HERE' and 'NOW' are now London tower block history. There will never be another 'Heygate', so if you raved at Ministry, Corsica Studios or Coronet back in the day, this estate is forever an integral part of your musical / architectural landscape.
