Trellick Tower is arguably the most iconic brutalist building in all of London but Balfron Tower was built a few years before by the same architect and is the less attractive but tougher of the architectural siblings. Balfron Tower has now been turned into luxury flats but these images were captured whilst it was still social housing and still a home for pirate radio transmissions.
If you love brutalism and East London musical culture, this is where the two meet in a way unmatched elsewhere.
